You may sit and wonder. How can this squirrel who’s name is simply the letter, ‘R,’ be so special? How can he have so much hype surrounding him. If we were to try and list out everything, right here, right now, this blog post would be longer than the dictionary. As I sit here, my fingers would have a 97.4% chance of simply falling off because of the shear length of that post. It would be suicide to try. Complete madness.
But then again, many considered what R did as insane. They doubted him, looked down on him and ridiculed him for some of the stunts he attempted… Until he completed them, of course. His first job was as a lumberjack for the Sahara Forest. He once sneezed; many refer to it as the Big Bang. He, to this day, wears his 2016 Superbowl ring proudly. Waiters tip him. He gave himself, “The Talk,” when he was younger because he felt he needed to know. He was raised by the strongest person he knows: his father, a.k.a. himself. He once scored a touchdown by shooting a three-pointer homerun.
Now before we begin, we want to make it clear that this lizard absolutely, without a doubt, cannot read. Many judge and criticize us and say things like, “That’s impossible! R can’t make magical things like that happen.” Well you know what we say to people like that? Nothing. The second they see R, their entire perspective changes. He’s got a beard thicker than the manliest of all men. He wreaks of 100% M.A.N. – Mustaches, Aftershave and Napalm. R is the definition of manliness, yet he’s only a squirrel.
This is one of the animals that R has influenced and inspired. He has no name (fore he is only a lizard, that would be just be ridiculous), but R has inspired him to stand up and make a difference in life. We received these pictures last night of this lizard. His owner claims that he woke up in the middle of the night and saw a bright light coming from the other room. He went to go check it out and to his astonishment found that his computer screen was on and that his lizard was on the keyboard. When he went to go look at what was on the screen, he was amazed to find that his lizard had actually typed something! On the screen he saw, in the URL box, the words, ‘Reewerduhbull.’ Absolutely confused by this illegible mess, he read it aloud to himself and came up with, ‘Rewardable.’
After a little research, he found out about R’s Legacy and sent us these pictures. He was so excited in his email to us and we couldn’t hide this from the world. R continues to inspire the likes of many animals. So here’s to inspiration! You can see the joy and happiness in the lizards face! Right? Maybe just a little? Well, whatever, we know he’s happy.
Our mascot, R, has been known to do some pretty amazing things. From reciting pi (twice), to learning how to read by using only a calculator. We’re honored to share his legacy with you and an important part of that is the amount of animals he’s inspired. Our new segment, R’s Legacy, will not only share the amazing stories about R’s life, but also the animals who stood up and said, “You know what, I can do that too!” So here’s to you my furry, scaly and bald friends. Check out the R’s Legacy tab on our home page!
